Are the Presidential sites making the grade?

In reading these articles (and some are from friends of mine), they seem to reply on the simple tick-box evaluation (e.g. do they have a blog, can you donate, and so on) of the site features and pay little attention to the major goal of each campaign: capturing the contact details of the supporters and/or get a donation as quickly as possible. My effort will focus on this issue with a simple tradeoff: do they meet the need of the user/visitor/supporter? Will they succeed in their goals? Are they making the grade? Continue reading

John Kerry out of the hunt…

The news is out, and it was very evident on his website with a return to a Massachusetts-focus – Senator John Kerry (JK) has announced he is not going to run as a candidate for the 2008 Presidential Primary Election. While there have been numerous articles, posts and commentaries on his campaign and the missteps (both during and afterward), people still have yet to understand the man for what he has done and continues to do for this country. Edwards and the Power of Words and Images

I would suggest that Edwards and others start talking in the tones of Clinton and Reagan – lead with a vision, a majestic honor (not too syrupy, please) and then follow with how things are wrong, why they are wrong and how to fix them. Continue reading
